Is This One on Your New Year's Resolution List?
The
New Year is right around the corner, and one important New Year’s Resolution you
can start right away is to stop sitting so much; you actually may live longer.
Mounting research, according to AARP
Health, supports the theory that sitting is the new smoking and that it
increases the risk of obesity, diabetes, cancer and early death, even for those
who exercise daily. And the amazing thing is that with the abundance of
technology, people are sitting longer than they are sleeping. According
to a new study, if most people spent less than three hours a day sitting,
it would add two years to the average life expectancy in this country. It is
suggested that if you have been sitting for an hour, you've been sitting too
long. So make your number one New Year’s Resolution to sit less and move more. Then
tell us your plan of attack.
Getting the care and information you need, when you need it, isn't too much to
ask. Your voice matters.
